High Lookee Lodge is a 40-unit intergenerational assisted living, convalescent care, hospice and ceremonial facility on tribal land in central Oregon. The 40,000 SF facility was constructed with native, cultural and maintenance-free materials. It is the first known senior facility solely for Native American occupancy. Unique cultural aspects of the three Tribes which constitute the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs were integrated into the design while maintaining a very tight budget. These elements include a tribal ceremonial room, sweat lodge, salmon bake area, dialysis room and an enlarged dining and kitchen area for other tribal elders and families.
