LRS provided all of the space planning and interior design for this custom carpet design showroom within a historic building in Portland’s Pearl District. The showroom includes the adjacent “Archive” retail space for one-of-a-kind and discount items. The design called for gutting the space, custom rug storage “cubbies,” new offices, kitchen, conference and sales spaces with custom folding doors. A water feature meets customers at the main entry, and the rock channel design is carried through the showroom. Careful attention was given to lighting and color selection in order to reflect a residential environment, showing the carpets to their best advantage.
