The new 40-Bed El Dorado County Juvenile Detention Facility for juvenile detention, treatment and commitment programs serves the eastern region of El Dorado County. This facility will provide much needed secure bed space and services to this area that can be isolated by hazardous winter conditions.
The program for the facility consists of two housing pods with associated recreation space, academic space and services; a vocational food service and laundry area, a secure visiting area for both contact and non-contact visiting, a medical exam/dispensary, and administrative support space.
