LRS Architects, Inc. has been selected to provide design services for a major new technology park in Shanghai, China. The commission comes as the result of an invited international design competition with firms from Europe and Asia competing.
The project located inside Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park will consist of more than 2.28 million square feet of development, in multiple buildings surrounding a central, park-like water feature. The LRS Team includes Interface Engineering and Perron Collaborative, who will work closely with LRS to develop advanced sustainable systems for the project.
Targeted to become one of the first LEED Platinum certified projects in China, the development will make use of advanced engineering strategies and integrated sustainable site design to achieve the highest rating from the US Green Building Council. To date, only a handful of projects in China have received any LEED certification. LRSâ??s efforts support the Chinese governmentâ??s focus on environmental concerns and reflects the project ownerâ??s desire to be a pioneer in Chinaâ??s burgeoning green movement.
