Founded in 1976, LRS Architects, Inc. is consistently rated among the top architectural firms in the Portland/Vancouver metropolitan area. Since the firm was established, LRS has steadily grown and maintains its present size with a high ratio of licensed professional architects. We recently opened an office in Shanghai, China to better serve our Asian clients.
LRS is a known leader in the specialty areas of commercial office, retail, mixed-use, multi-family housing, civic and high-tech facilities as well as space planning and interior design. LRS uses leading-edge technology so that our staff has the latest functional design tools to make our clients' visions reality.
Training
LRS has an extensive on-going internal education program for our staff. The LRS experts in their fields such as LEED accreditation and sustainability, code changes, CAD, specs, design, interiors, etc. provide "Lunch & Learn" seminars for all staff on a regular basis. As experts in their fields, their knowledge is of great benefit to the office and is shared on a regular basis. LRS pays for job related training seminars, conferences or programs and, if hourly, the time to attend. The firm holds internal design charettes for projects to stimulate creativity and to find the best solutions to design problems.
We are committed to providing Sustainable Building Solutions for all our clients, which is growing increasingly important. LRS has 13 LEED Accredited Professionals. Principal Trish Nixon is a Sustainable Building Advisor in addition to her LEED certification. She chairs the firm's Green Design Committee, which coordinates regular staff training on sustainable design and building practices.

Activities
LRS has a company Holiday Party, Summer Family BBQ, Golf Tournament and sponsors firm teams that compete in local Softball, Golf and Bowling leagues or events. Staff and their families and friends are encouraged to attend and participate in company events. The firm has a standing Social Committee to help plan parties and special events. Our putt-putt golf design competition was the smash hit of the Spring!
