Adidas Village Corporate Campus

Portland, Oregon

The adidas Village comprises approximately 352,000 SF of new corporate office space and athletic facilities for adidas America at the old Bess Kaiser Hospital site in Portland, Oregon. LRS provided all master planning, interior architecture, interior design, programming, and space planning for this large complex. While the age of the existing facility provided some architectural bonuses, such as extensive perimeter glass for increased natural daylighting, it posed some challenges including seismic upgrades and hidden unknowns.

The common spaces in adidas Village are designed to provide a variety of informal gathering needs, with bar counters, flexible seating, dramatic lighting and daylighting, as well as product display fixtures.

Color and sport are constant companions, and the interiors present a vivid display of color and pattern that is never ostentatious. Subtle hues complement those bold choices and move into a palette of natural materials and earth tones. In keeping with adidas’ flexibility needs, an open-spine philosophy prevailed with movable desks, dividers and modern furniture.

This project won an IIDA Citation Award for Excellence in Interior Design.
