SUSTAINABLE DESIGN

LRS' leadership in the field of sustainability demonstrates our commitment to thoughtful solutions that provide the optimal functionality, comfort, and operational cost effectiveness. Resource-efficient design combined with our dedication to a sustainable future, combine to create an approach where sustainability is integral in all our work, not an afterthought. Our own offices in the DeSoto Building earned LEED Gold Commercial Interiors. Other examples of our sustainable work include the Hillsboro Civic Center, the first Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified City Hall in the country, and the adidas Village interior architecture, which received PGE's Earth Advantage™ designation for its massive recycling efforts. Our design work in China, currently underway, will result in the largest LEED Platinum building in China, at 2.2 million square feet of sustainable development. Our 12 LEED Accredited Professionals and our in-house Green Team are continually searching out ways to further enhance our sustainable design knowledge and tools.

LRS knows that project design incorporating regionally produced, durable, economical, and sustainable materials with low toxicity, and high recyclable content is vital to our environment. Our designs utilize existing building elements (where possible) and provide flexibility to reduce future waste. The integration of building systems promote energy conservation (with an emphasis on renewable energy), conservation of water and resources, and efficient storm water management processes. LRS also considers the best building orientation, conservation of existing site resources, and selection of durable materials.
